Description

Rayvencoles is an elderly human man with a weathered face carved by decades of mountain winds. His hair, once golden-brown like his son’s, has faded to silver-white, and his beard is long and streaked with gray. Though age has stooped his shoulders, his green eyes remain sharp and warm. He wears the simple robes of a Lightbearer, faded from years of use but kept immaculately clean.

Personality

Rayvencoles possesses the quiet patience of a man who has spent a lifetime walking lonely mountain paths. He speaks slowly and deliberately, each word considered before it leaves his lips. He has a gentle humor and an endless wellspring of stories from his wandering years. Though his body has slowed, his faith burns as brightly as ever.

Background

Rayvencoles spent most of his life as a wandering priest of Elandria—a Lightbearer who traveled the remote settlements of the Dragonspire Mountains, bringing the Lady’s light to those who rarely saw a proper temple. He performed marriages, blessed homes, laid the dead to rest, and offered counsel to the isolated folk who made their lives among the peaks.

His wanderings brought him to a small mountain temple where Cherylcoles served as abbess. Their shared devotion—to their goddess, to the mountains, and to quiet service—blossomed into love. They married and settled near her temple, where their son Dravencoles was born.

Rayvencoles recognized his own youthful fire in his son’s temper. Hoping to give the boy the same discipline that had shaped his own life, he arranged for Dravencoles to train in Southaven under Brother Aldric Stoneward.

Now too old to wander the mountain paths, Rayvencoles spends his days in prayer and quiet reflection. He is immensely proud of his son, though he expresses it rarely—only in the warmth of his eyes and the careful way he keeps every letter Dravencoles has sent over the years.
