Description

Cherylcoles is an elderly human woman with kind eyes and silver hair worn in a simple braid. Her face is lined with age but softened by a gentle, knowing smile. She wears the plain vestments of an abbess—unadorned but dignified—and moves with the careful grace of someone who has spent a lifetime in contemplation and service. A small pendant of Elandria’s sunburst hangs at her throat.

Personality

Cherylcoles radiates a calm, nurturing presence that puts others at ease. She listens more than she speaks, and when she does offer words, they carry the weight of deep thought. She has an iron will beneath her gentle exterior—the kind of strength required to maintain a temple in the harsh mountain wilderness. She loves her son fiercely, though she rarely speaks of her worries for him.

Background

Cherylcoles has served Elandria since she was a young woman, rising to become abbess of a small temple tucked into a valley of the western Dragonspire Mountains. Her temple served the scattered folk who lived in the surrounding peaks—a place of refuge, healing, and prayer for those who made their lives far from the lowland cities.

When Rayvencoles, a wandering Lightbearer, arrived at her temple during his travels, she found in him a kindred spirit. They married and he settled near her temple, where their son Dravencoles was born.

She taught her son the prayers and stories of Elandria from the time he could speak. When his temper showed itself—that quick fire that reminded her so much of his father’s younger days—she counseled patience and mercy. She supported Rayvencoles’s decision to send Dravencoles to train in Southaven, though it broke her heart to see him go.

Now elderly and less able to tend her temple, she spends her days in quiet devotion. She prays daily for her son’s safety and waits eagerly for any news from the lowlands. The temple sees few visitors these days, but those who come find her as welcoming as ever.
