Description
Princess Mariella Solborn is a composed woman in her late twenties with the golden hair and blue eyes of the Solborn line, though her features carry a softness her father’s never had. Since moving to Sunset Bluff, she has adopted the Thornbrook court’s humility laws and wears an ornate silver veil over the lower half of her face in public. She dresses in the muted blues and silvers favored by the coastal nobility rather than the whites and golds of Solaris.
Personality
Mariella is thoughtful and quietly independent, more interested in philosophy and faith than court politics. She speaks with a calm directness that surprises those expecting royal airs. She genuinely loves Sunset Bluff and its people and shows no desire to return to the capital.
Background
The only surviving child of King Aldric IX Solborn and the late Queen Elendra. Her older brother, the crown prince, died in a riding accident in 1257, and her mother followed in 1264. Mariella married into the Thornbrook family and left Solaris for Sunset Bluff, distancing herself from the politics of the capital. She is technically heir to the throne of Solara, though her absence from court has made this a subject of quiet debate among the nobility.
