The party encountered Laerwen in Balandel, where her prophetic abilities drew attention from those seeking to understand the growing darkness. She warned Momeline with cryptic words: “They think it’s me, but it’s your friend.”
The warning referred to Lirielle, whom Laerwen recognized as the one truly connected to the Crown of Judgement. That night, Lirielle placed the crown upon her head and experienced something Momeline had not—a surge of agency within the vision, as if she could reach out and grasp fate itself.
