Dessie Pindlehop is a halfling who was saved from cultists by the party in Session 14 - Oaths in the Wild. The party does not know, though, that the cultists had already killed and reanimated her. She is extremely life-like, but can be detected as undead by spells like Detect Good or Evil. She acts normally, but will obey any commands upon hearing her trigger phrase “the architect is calling you to serve.”
Story
The party encountered Dessie as a prisoner of cultists during their journey to Balandel. They rescued her, believing they had saved an innocent halfling from a terrible fate. She traveled with them briefly and became friendly with Talan Windfern, who appreciated having another nature-loving soul in the group.
The truth was far darker. The cultists had already killed Dessie and reanimated her as a puppet—an infiltrator designed to strike when the time was right. When Sylvara Greenthorn was exposed under truth serum, she revealed that Dessie was the one who had actually murdered Eleanor Vess, the Queen’s chief advisor.
The revelation devastated Talan, who had genuinely liked her. The party realized too late that their act of mercy had delivered an assassin directly into the heart of Balandel.
