A thick, official-looking tome with the Solborn sunburst stamped in gold. Updated regularly by royal historians.

The blood of Aldric I Solborn has flowed through every monarch to sit upon the Throne of Light for over twelve centuries. This chronicle records their names and deeds, that we might honor their memory and learn from their example.

King Aldric I Solborn (Year 0-67): The Founder. A soldier, scholar, and saint in all but name. He established the laws that still govern us, built the first Grand Cathedral of Elandria, and proved that virtue and power need not be enemies. He died peacefully in his sleep at age ninety-three, and it is said that golden light filled his chamber at the moment of his passing.

King Aldric II through King Marcus I (Year 67-300): The Golden Age. These early monarchs expanded the kingdom’s influence through diplomacy rather than war, establishing trade routes that made Solara wealthy beyond measure. The Great Library of Solaris was founded during this period, as were the first formal academies of magic and medicine. Art and culture flourished under royal patronage.

King Marcus II through King Aldric V (Year 300-500): The Expansion. As Solara’s population grew, the kingdom looked northward to the fertile Windcrest Valley. Scouts mapped the Aramond River, and settlers followed. The system of lordships was established during this period, granting noble families authority over distant territories in exchange for loyalty and taxes.

King Aldric VI (Year 500-547): The Builder. Perhaps no monarch contributed more to Solara’s infrastructure. Roads, bridges, aqueducts, fortifications—Aldric VI believed that civilization must be maintained through constant improvement. The great coast road that connects Solaris to Seawatch was his vision, as were the watchtowers that guard our borders.

King Aldric VII (Year 912-989): The Unifier. It was Aldric VII who officially chartered the town of Southaven in Year 967, recognizing the strategic importance of this northern settlement. He elevated the Kael family to lords of the region, trusting them to guard the kingdom’s frontier. His reign marked the height of Solara’s territorial expansion.

King Marcus IV (Year 1189-1245): The Scholar. A patron of learning who expanded the Great Library threefold and established scholarships for promising students regardless of birth. His reign was peaceful and prosperous, though shadowed by tragedy when plague claimed two of his sons. His third son, Aldric, was an unlikely heir who would prove worthy of the crown.

King Aldric IX Solborn (Year 1245-Present): Our current monarch, long may he reign. Though he came to the throne unexpectedly, Aldric IX has proven himself a wise and capable ruler. His reign has been marked by stability and prosperity, despite the personal tragedies he has endured—the loss of his son and heir in 1257, and his beloved Queen Elendra in 1264. The King has never remarried, devoting himself entirely to the welfare of his people.

The Solborn line endures. The Light endures. And so long as both remain true, Solara shall stand eternal.
