A well-worn traveler’s handbook, its pages soft from countless readings. Simple woodcut illustrations depict each god’s symbol.

For those who journey far from home and find themselves in unfamiliar temples, this humble guide offers introduction to the Seven who shaped our world. Know their names, respect their domains, and you shall find welcome in any land.

Elandria, the Lightbringer, is goddess of light, inspiration, and creation. Her symbol is the golden sunburst, and her temples face the east to catch the dawn. She teaches that knowledge banishes ignorance, kindness conquers cruelty, and every act of creation honors her first great work. Scholars, rulers, artists, and the righteous call upon her name. When you light a candle against the dark, you honor Elandria.

Faeren, the Wildfather, is god of nature, balance, and the eternal cycle. His symbol is a tree with antlers entwined in its branches, representing the unity of all living things. Druids, hunters, farmers, and all who live close to the land revere him. He teaches that death feeds life, winter yields to spring, and no force—not even civilization—may interrupt the sacred cycle forever. When you plant a seed or give thanks for the harvest, you honor Faeren.

Nytheris, the Veiled, is goddess of night, mystery, and secrets. Her symbol is a crescent moon behind a veil, half-hidden and half-revealed. Spies, prophets, and seekers of forbidden knowledge whisper her name in shadowed places. She teaches that some truths must be earned, some doors should remain closed, and the unknown holds both danger and wonder. When you keep a confidence or uncover a hidden truth, you honor Nytheris. The Church of Elandria views her followers with suspicion, claiming her whispered truths lead to arrogance rather than wisdom.

Orithon, the Architect, is god of law, progress, and civilization. His symbol is a stone pillar supporting a city, representing the foundations upon which society rests. Kings, judges, builders, and lawmakers invoke his blessing. He teaches that order protects the weak, justice must be blind, and through structured society, mortals achieve their highest potential. When you uphold the law or build something that will outlast you, you honor Orithon.

Seraphis, the Watcher, is goddess of arcane power, wisdom, and curiosity. Her symbol is an open book with a single eye upon its pages, ever reading, ever learning. Mages, inventors, and scholars dedicate their studies to her. She teaches that knowledge is the highest calling, magic is a gift to be mastered not feared, and every question answered reveals ten more worth asking. When you learn something new or teach what you know, you honor Seraphis.

Vaelith, the Silent Guide, is god of death, fate, and the afterlife. His symbol is an hourglass filled with black sand, marking the passage of mortal time. Mourners, oracles, and those who walk between life and death revere him. He teaches that death is not an ending but a passage, that fate binds all things, and that souls deserve dignity in their final journey. When you comfort the dying or remember the dead, you honor Vaelith.

His followers hold four sacred tenets: the Right to Life, the Right to Death, the Right to Free Will, and the Right to Submit. In Vaelaen, the old tongue still used in their rituals, these are spoken as “Ela, Elatar, Vala, Valatar”—a phrase sometimes used as a greeting or blessing among the faithful. The suffix -tar means “after,” suggesting that death and submission are seen as the sacred states that follow life and freedom.

Note: Vaelith worship is discouraged in the Kingdom of Solara, though it remains common elsewhere.

Zareen, the Burning Heart, is goddess of passion, war, and fire. Her symbol is a burning sword, representing both destruction and the forge that creates. Warriors and lovers alike call upon her, for she governs all consuming emotions. She teaches that passion gives life meaning, courage demands action, and a heart that does not burn is barely alive at all. When you fight for what you believe or love without reservation, you honor Zareen.

These are the Seven who watch over our world. Honor them according to your path, and travel safely.
